Chilli chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese dish of chicken. In India, this may include a variety of dry chicken preparations.

Chili Chicken


Boneless Chicken Small Pieces – 250 gm
Oil for Frying

For 1st Marination

Cold Water – 1/2 cup
White Vinegar – 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 Tsp
Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp

For 2nd Marination

All Purpose Flour – 1/2 cup
Corn Starch – 1/4 cup
Baking Powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil -1 Tsp

For Gravy

Soya Sauce – 3-4 tsp
Chilli Garlic Sauce – 2-3 tsp (As per your taste)
Corn Starch -1 Tsp
Sliced Onion -1 medium size
Capsicum Sliced – 1 medium size
Spring Onion Chopped – 3-4
Green Chillies – 3-4
Chopped Garlic – 1Tsp
Chopped Ginger – 1 Tsp
Black Pepper – 1/2 tsp
Water – 1/2 cup (As per your thickness of Sauce)
Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

  1. Take a bowl , put chicken pieces in a bowl add Cold water, salt, sugar, vinegar and ginger garlic paste.
  2. Mix well and keep it in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  3. Marinate Chicken with flour, Corn starch, Backing Powder and oil.
  4. Keep this to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Heat Oil in pan. Fry the chicken and let it rest for 15 minutes. Fry again for Crunchy flavour.
  6. Heat oil in a Pan.
  7. Add Ginger, Garlic, Sliced Onions, Capsicum, Sliced Green Chillies.
  8. Saute for few minutes till slightly tender.
  9. Add water mix with Cornstarch.
  10. Then add Soya sauce, Chilli Garlic Sauce, Black Pepper, Salt to taste and cook for some time; wait till sauce gets thicken.
  11. Now add fry Chicken and turn off the flame.
  12. Garnish with Spring Onion and Serve Hot.

Note: If you like Chilli Chicken with some gravy than added more water.
