Chakli is a snack that is made during Diwali in Maharastra and Gujrat. But you can eat it any time apart from the festival as a tea time snack.

There are many methods of making chakli and today I am sharing my mother-in-law recipe, although I made it for the first time, it came out very delicious. Hence, its a tested recipe from generation to generation.

For making this chakli only thing that is required is a chakli maker that is easily available in the market.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cup Rice Flour
  • 1 Cup All Purpose flour/ Maida
  • 1 Cup Gram Flour
  • 1.5 Tbsp Clarified Butter /Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Carom seeds
  • 1 tsp White Sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as Required
  • Oil for Frying

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl add rice flour, all-purpose flour, gram flour, carrom seeds, sesame seeds, red chili powder, salt.

  • In a pan heat oil on a low flame and pour into the flour mixrure.
  • Mix well and make sure that there is no lumps.
  • Now add water as required and make a dough which is niether too hard nor to soft.
  • Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan on low flame.
  • Take a small porttion of a dough and fill it inside the chakli mold.
  • Start making the chakli on the aluminum foil and then fry them in hot oil.
  • Fry them until they are golden brown . Take the chakli out on a paper towel.
  • Crispy , Tasty Chakli is ready to serve.
